The right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental constitutional freedom and an important part of Utah’s heritage. The Utah House of Representatives is committed to protecting Utahns’ Second Amendment right and promoting responsible firearm ownership. 

The Legislature has consistently defended Utahns’ right to self-defense and worked to ensure that responsible gun owners can confidently exercise their constitutional rights. We have also supported efforts to promote firearm safety education, encourage responsible storage practices, and provide law enforcement with the tools they need to protect the public and respond to credible threats.

We will continue safeguarding the constitutional rights of Utahns and preserve the freedoms that have long been a cornerstone of our state.
