With nearly two-thirds of Utah’s land controlled by the federal government, it is critical that we continue to advocate for a stronger state voice in how these lands are managed. Utahns understand our landscapes, resources, and communities better than anyone, and we believe local input leads to better outcomes for both people and the environment.

From energy development to recreation and conservation, these lands play a vital role in supporting our economy, creating jobs, and maintaining our high quality of life. The Utah House of Representatives is committed to ensuring these resources are used in a balanced and sustainable way.

At the same time, we recognize the importance of stewardship. Responsible management means protecting Utah’s natural beauty, wildlife habitats, and outdoor recreation opportunities while allowing for thoughtful development. These priorities are not mutually exclusive — they go hand in hand.
