Utah’s measured, all-of-the-above energy policy has powered our state for decades by providing some of the most reliable and affordable energy in the country. The Utah House of Representatives is committed to keeping Utah’s energy reliable, affordable, and dispatchable. Taking an all of the above approach means that we are maintaining existing infrastructure while supporting the development of new electricity resources. 

In recent years, we paved the way to save a power plant that has the capacity to power over 750,000 homes, created the Utah Energy Council to implement our energy strategy, invested in critical infrastructure, and supported nuclear energy initiatives. We also addressed rising energy demand by equipping the state with planning tools, helping keep electricity costs stable. Together with the Senate and the Governor, we have focused on diversifying energy sources by creating a regulatory framework to safely expand nuclear power and other generation options. We are also providing real relief to Utahns now by lowering the state gas tax to provide real relief every time you fill up at the pump. 

Together, these efforts reflect a coordinated approach to ensuring reliable, affordable, and forward-looking energy policy in Utah.
